Professional Services

Nutrition plays an integral part in so many health conditions. Having a reliable nutrition professional on your team can be the missing link between your recommendations and your patients' ability to put them into action.

I've worked as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator for over five years so I understand the challenges your patients face. I go beyond simply giving educational handouts and one-size-fits-all recommendations; my job as an educator is to meet your patients where they are and take them to the next level of their health journey.

4-Hour Nutrition Clinic

Good nutrition is the foundation to treating and preventing so many chronic diseases. If your clinic is missing a registered dietitian as part of your staff and you are looking for a way to fill this gap, I offer 4-hour nutrition clinics on an as-needed basis.

Your clinic can decide to book appointments during this time or treat this as a walk-in clinic. All booking goes through your clinic (because your patients know you!).

Your patients will receive individualized counseling and recommendations based on a brief needs assessment. They will walk away with answers to their nutrition questions, resources tailored to their needs, and one S.M.A.R.T. goal to focus on until the next time they see you.

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.

Group Diabetes Education

According to The Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes 2018, diabetes education and medical nutrition therapy can improve outcomes and reduce costs for patients with diabetes. It's recommended that all patients with diabetes receive education.

The synergy of group education can empower patients who feel alone in their struggles to find solutions to challenging barriers. Using the ADA-approved curriculum Conversation Maps, each class is tailored to the unique questions and struggles of the participants involved.

Choose one class or book a series of four. Each class lasts approximately 2 hours. Class topics include:

  • On the Road to Better Managing Your Diabetes
  • Diabetes and Healthy Eating
  • Monitoring Your Blood Glucose
  • Continuing Your Journey With Diabetes
  • Caring for Gestational Diabetes (not included in class series)

If you have multiple patients requesting information about a similar nutrition topic, a uniquely tailored nutrition presentation may be your best fit. I use interactive PowerPoint presentations but modify our conversation to answer the questions of the people in the group.
