Grill Mat

This grill mat is perfect to cook delicate or small food on the grill, such as fish or shrimp. It's easy to clean and is heat-resistant up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. It doesn't transfer grill marks, but it does allow the grill flavors to infuse into the meat.

Grill Utensil Set

Every grill master needs a set of quality grill utensils. This grilling utensil set is made of stainless steel; always avoid using plastic utensils on the grill! The set contains only what you need and nothing you don't. It includes a spatula, tongs, and fork to turn meat.

Oven Glove Heat Resistant Gloves

Prevent burns using these heat-resistant gloves that withstand temperatures up to 540 degrees Fahrenheit. These gloves provide much more dexterity than traditional oven mitts and are perfect for handling very hot grill temperatures, like moving a hot grill basket.

Programmable Slow-Cooker

A slow-cooker is a great way to save time with meal prep and get dinner on the table on busy nights. This programmable 7-quart Crock Pot is large enough to feed a family. It has the option of setting a timer to turn it on or off, which would be helpful if leaving for the day and needing to adjust temperature settings before coming home. For a simpler, less expensive option, see the recommendation for a manual slow-cooker.

Manual Slow-Cooker

A slow-cooker is a great way to save time with meal prep and get dinner on the table on busy nights. This manual 7-quart Crock Pot is large enough to feed a family, is simple to use, and is relatively inexpensive. It has settings for "high" and "low," but does not have a timer or other features. For an option with more features, see the recommendation for a programmable slow-cooker.

Potato Masher

A handheld potato masher is a great space-saving alternative to a hand or stand mixer. It can be used to mash potatoes, black beans for veggies burgers, chickpeas for falafel, and more.

Cast Iron Griddle

This cast iron griddle is a luxury, but might be an essential for the person who loves to grill but doesn't have a grill outside. It's double-sided. One side is flat, making it perfect to make sandwiches, fried eggs, or pancakes. The other is ribbed, giving meat and tofu the appearance of being grilled outside. After seasoning the cast iron, it will become nonstick without any toxic chemicals.

Box Grater

A box grater is essential for grating cheese and vegetables. This option has 4 different sides: large grates, small grates, a zester, and option for slicing. It has a non-slip base and has an optional container that comes with it.

Wok (for Electric and Induction Stovetop)

I don't have a wok, but if I had an electric or Induction stovetop and unlimited funds, this is what I would buy. The traditional rounded bottom of a wok makes this pan perfect for tossing stir-fry vegetables. This skillet is made in Tennessee of 5 layers including 3 layers of aluminum for heat conductivity. The handle is hollow and does not heat while pan is on the stove. It does not have a nonstick coating but is easy to clean.

Wok (for Gas Stovetop)

I don't have a wok, but if I did this is what I would purchase. The rounded bottom makes this pan perfect for tossing stir-fry vegetables. Note that this ONLY works with a gas stovetop.

2.5 Quart Glass Baking Dish

This deep glass dish technically holds 11 cups, but is perfect for most recipes. The glass dish is oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe. It comes with a plastic lid (NOT oven safe), making it a perfect storage dish in addition to baking.

Pot

Pots allow for less evaporation with their relatively small amount of surface area, making them ideal for cooking stews and soups for long amounts of time. This Heritage Steel pot is made in Tennessee of 5 layers including 3 layers of aluminum for heat conductivity. The handle is hollow and does not heat while pan is on the stove. It does not have a nonstick coating but is easy to clean. This pan can be used on an induction stovetop.
